Here's how you can make Golden Milk in your own kitchen!

The super serum to boost your brains neurotrophic factor and functionality!

The main ingredient in Golden Milk is Turmeric. Traditionally turmeric is used in many Asian cuisine and gives dishes that vibrant yellow colour but not many people know that it has so many other health benefits, this is because it’s loaded with lots of antioxidants. It can improve memory, lower our blood sugar levels, reduce inflammation, and boost the immune system, among other things. This milk is an easy and tasty way of incorporating this spice into your diet!

What is Golden Milk?

Last night, whilst I was on the phone to my friend, my little 5 year old came to me crying as he had a leg ache. My friend told me to make some golden milk for him. I calmed him down and went straight to the kitchen to make it. Alhamdulillah we all drank the milk and my son was happy because he said the aching had stopped. This drink really does help you to get a good night's sleep Alhamdulillah.

This was a favourite in my house a few years ago when my sons eczema was really bad. It really helped with his eczema Alhamdulillah and every time I make golden milk I make sure I make plenty so that everyone can have a drink as the benefits are so immense.

Curcumin, the active component in turmeric, has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries due to its strong antioxidant properties (antioxidants are compounds that fight cell damage and fight off disease and infections).

Turmeric, ginger and cinnamon also have strong anti-inflammatory properties so it will reduce aches and joint pain.

Other benefits include improving memory, protection against heart disease, protection against cancer, help in ulcerative colitis, it is rich in vitamin D so can contribute to strong skeleton reducing your risk of bone disease such as osteoporosis.

How to make Golden Milk?

Ingredients

1) I use fresh unpasteurized cow milk but you can use any milk of your choice

2) Fresh turmeric 3 inches or as much as you like crushed

3) Fresh ginger again as much as you like crushed

4) 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder

5) 1/4 tsp black pepper

6) 1 tbsp cold pressed coconut oil and 1tbsp pure honey (only add these once the pan is taken off the heat)

To make the golden milk, simply add all the ingredients into a small saucepan and bring to boil (do not add coconut oil or honey at this point). Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes or so and then remove from heat. Add the coconut oil and honey!

Your golden milk is ready to drink, cheers to better health! Make sure to check on our other health and fitness blogs and Courses!
